Hi, It doesn't seem that an m42 could work on a Red One based on flange distances unless there was a built in recess into the adapter. I just checked, from where my Nikon mount is sitting it has only about 0.12mm of back focus travel left, yet the flange distance difference between m42 and Nikon is 1.04mm.
Aside from issue of marks, which isn't really applicable here, are you sure this adapter will achieve infinity focus on the Red One?

Tested it on RED One here - works fine, but you need to adjust back focus after switching mounts.
As far as I can see, Nikon mount is raised. Our M42 mount is thinner. You should have enough space to reach infinity focus therefore. If not, I'll accept return.
